Thursday Night Yang & Yin

Join us for a FREE yin class tonight, 11th November as we kick off our Thursday evenings at Bradmore Community Centre. Following a dynamic vinyasa class from 6:15-7:15pm, the Yin sessions will run from 7:30-8:45pm and provide you with the chance to truly slow down and unwind the tension from your week - both physically & mentally.

My ultimate fave Yin pose of all time: reclined butterfly pose (preferably in the desert)

Yin yoga is an oft overlooked but incredibly powerful practice. Physically it helps us keep the fascia (the deep connective tissue that binds us together, kind of like pith on an orange) hydrated, resulting in healthier joints and increased flexibility. Mentally it helps us tap into our Parasympathetic Nervous system and let's us breathe a deep sigh of relief. Emotionally it helps us process and sift through all of the baggage we haul around.

Curious? Keep reading for some FAQ & answers.

So what does a Yin yoga class look like?

Very different from our yang styles of practice. Most of the poses are seated or lying, in order to help us stay as muscularly soft as possible and target the deeper tissues.

Do I need to be flexible to practice?

No. Saying you're too inflexible to start is like saying you're too dirty to take a shower! It's through the practice we begin to work on our flexibility, and Yin yoga is THE best type of yoga to do that. If you do lots of yang practices or dynamic sports this will complement that perfectly.

What do I need to bring to class?

Besides your mat and usual props of blocks and a belt (if you have them) cushions are the most useful thing to bring, if you don't have a bolster. Bolsters are a great tool to help prop us up in Yin in the long holds and are personally my fave prop. You may also want to bring a blanket, and warm clothes are a must - think jumpers, snuggly socks, etc.

If you do fancy splashing out on a bolster or some new props for yourself or others for Chrissy I'd recommend local & family run brand Myga (www.myga.eco) use the code MARIE15 for 15% off online orders.

How do I book tonight's free class?

Clink on any of the green buttons and you'll be lead to this screen:

Fill out your details on the left and make sure you put the coupon code 'yinisin' in the coupon code box bottom right as you can see here highlighted in green.

Press 'pay now' and you're done - you'll receive a confirmation email.

There is plenty of parking at the venue: Bradmore Community Centre, Birches Barn Rd, Wolverhampton, WV3 7BW (it's just on the one corner next to Bantock park, opposite the Bradmore arms). For Thursdays we will be in the large hall at the rear of the community centre complex (drive through gates straight on, then turn right and right again).

I look forward to meeting some of you later and look forward to sharing Thursday evenings winding down with you. If you have any unanswered questions feel free to drop me an email - Marie - wildwolfmovement@gmail.com
