New to yoga? Or have you been dropping into regular classes but still feel like you're trying to keep up? This 4-week beginner course is designed to slow things down, break down the foundations and help you understand what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to adapt it for your body. Rather than throwing you straight into a fast-paced class, we'll build your practice progressively, giving you the tools, knowledge and confidence to step into regular group classes feeling more prepared and at ease. Over 4 weeks, we'll explore: 💫 Week 1 ~ Root to Rise We'll begin with a brief introduction to the history and philosophy of yoga before exploring how to build strong foundations through the feet, learning how to create stability and awareness in each shape. 💫 Week 2 ~ Bandhas + Breath We'll explore basic breathing techniques and introduce the concept of bandhas. You'll begin to understand how breath can support your movement and help you feel more connected to your practice. 💫 Week 3 ~ Sun Salutations We'll break down Surya Namaskar A + B, exploring the individual postures, transitions and modifications. You'll have time to practice the movements slowly and understand how the sequence comes together. 💫 Week 4 ~ Finding Flow We'll bring everything together with an introduction to Vinyasa-style practice, learning how to link movement and breath and move through a sequence confidently. By the end of the course, you'll have: +A better understanding of foundational yoga postures and alignment +Tools to modify poses and work with your own body +A greater awareness of breath and movement +An understanding of common yoga cues and terminology +More confidence to join regular group classes Whether you've never stepped onto a yoga mat before, or you've tried a few classes and found yourself wondering "What on earth am I supposed to be doing?" ~ you're welcome here. 📍Important info: ~Yoga mat and props (blocks and a belt) are not provided, please bring your own. ~There will be no 'rolling over' of classes or partial refunds if you are unable to attend any of the sessions. ~There are toilet facilities on site and ample parking, the address is: Bradmore Community Centre, Birches Barn Rd, Wolverhampton WV3 7BW ~ we are in the second white hall on the right hand side. ~All students are required to fill out a health questionnaire before their first session: https://tinyurl.com/3t4tcv2y Queries?
