Service Description

*Workshop recording ~ receive a link to play back and a mala in the post* We all know the benefits of meditation ~ helping manage stress and anxiety, increasing patience and tolerance, regulating our emotions so we can connect on a deeper level with ourselves and everyone around us ~ but the reality of practicing can be tricky, especially when we're not sure how to begin. Join us for a relaxed community workshop online from the comfort of your own home to learn about 3 different tools to help us in our meditation practices: 🕉 Mantra Stemming from the Sankskrit roots 'mannas' meaning mind and 'tra' meaning vehicle or tool, a man-tra is means of transporting us beyond our thoughts and the ever thinking monkey mind. We'll learn some simple mantras to incorporate in our meditation practices and also combine these with... Mudra Roughly translated to mean 'seal' or 'gesture' we'll be focusing on some basic hasta mudra or hand gestures to enhance our meditation practices. Used either alone or in conjunction with specific asana and pranayam, mudras can add an extra layer of depth to your practice by helping the flow of energy or prana throughout your being. 📿 Mala The Sanskrit term Mala (translated, garland) refers to the prayer beads used in japa meditation to count mantras, prayers or intentions. There are 108 beads on a full mala, the start/end a larger guru bead connected to a tassel. Everyone attending the workshop will receive a special rudraksha mala in the post (pictured here, below!) which has been made with love, positive intentions and manta, and blessed in the river Ganga. According to the ancient Vedic scriptures, rudraksha beads were formed from the tears (Aksha) of Lord Shiva (Rudra) and have always been used by yogi's, saints, sages and mystics for balancing the mind, emotions and creating the right environment for meditation and peaceful actions to bring about the desired goals in life. During the workshop you will learn how to use your mala for mantra as part of your meditation practice.
