About the Event

Join us under the last full moon at the turning point of the year to take some time out and thoroughly nurture mind, body & soul, making space to integrate some of the many lessons the last year has taught us.

The session will interweave the magical elements of yin yoga to release tension from the body, yoga nidra guided meditation to release stress from the mind and a deeply soothing sound bath to help you rest, release and restore.

Forget going out on the town, this is the best prep for the new year you could gift yourself!

Absolutely no yoga or meditation experience required.

Things you will need: warm clothes, a mat or rug, space to lie down, cushions, bolster if you have one or pillow, blankets, fave tea, maybe a journal handy if you like to process by writing things down.

Schedule

6-6:15pm - Opening Meditation

6:30 - 8pm Yin & Yoga Nidra

&;30 - 8:30pm Gong sound bath

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin is a slow, meditative style of yoga derived in the last 50 years based on stimulating the meridians or energetic channels that run throughout the body as mapped out in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It targets stressing the fascia, ligaments and joints in a healthy way and is hugely beneficial for your overall flexibility, stamina and resilience.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga nidra aka yogic sleep is a form of meditation that guides you into the hypnagogic state - that between asleep and awake - where you can delve into self discovery and plant seeds of intention in fertile ground. It is deeply relaxing - one hour of yoga nidra is the equivalent to four hours sleep!

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a beautiful, therapeutic experience likened to a 'sonic massage' - you simply lay or sit and enjoy the sounds and vibrations of the music. Benefits of immersing ourselves in the music include deep relaxation, lowered blood pressure & more balance and focus.

About your facilitators:

Marie of Wild Wolf Movement

Marie is a yoga teacher drawing upon nearly a decade’s worth of movement based practices and studies. Although she adores teaching hot sweaty vinyasa classes the deep, introspective nature of yin has always captivated her whole. She believes that Yin yoga is absolute magic and something everyone should experience at least once!

Liz of Blissful Dragon Therapeutic Sound

Liz is an experienced soundbath faciliatator with years of experience facilitating therapeutic sound events with a wide array of instruments, from crystal bowls and gongs to drums and ukele. During the sound bath Liz will use a combination of gongs and singing bowls, creating a grounded earthy sound perfect for the winter.
